“Our doubts are traitors and make us lose the good we oft might win by fearing to attempt.” -William Shakespeare

156090706pg9_InFocus822For the past three weeks, I have been in the worst state of pain I have ever felt in my four years of fighting chronic pain. It allowed my mind to wander and for doubt to slip through the cracks. As I laid in bed, hopelessly trying to overcome my pain, this doubt began to whisper to me things like, “Why does your ‘Heavenly Father’ allow you to endure so much?” or, “Why does He not heal you?” These questions rolled around my brain as I continued to struggle.

At our weakest points, doubt latches onto us, trying to drag us down into the depths. It can cause us to seek answers from slithery serpents or cause us to fall into a pit of despair. Doubt can be a very difficult foe to defeat, especially if you face it alone. Trust me, I know from experience.

Today, do not allow the voice of doubt to distract you from the path your Heavenly Father has set before you. Ask Him to silence the deceitful whispers so that you may follow His will for your life as you continue your journey.
